Dr Filip Thon has been Chairman of the Board of Management of E.ON Energie Deutschland GmbH since April 2021. After studying and graduating as an engineer in Prague, Thon began his professional career in 1995 as an analyst and director at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). Meanwhile, he completed his doctorate at the Technical University in Ostrava and received his PhD in 2000. In 2004, Filip Thon joined RWE Energy Czech Republic in Prague. A year later, he became a member of the Executive Board and then Deputy CEO for Commodity Portfolio Management & Organisation/ IT at RWE Transgas in Prague and subsequently held various positions at RWE East and innogy Retail, among others. In 2019, he was appointed Senior Vice-President for the Central and Eastern Europe region at E.ON SE.
